University of Nevada, Reno is traveling to UC Santa Cruz.  It is the second match in the competition and both teams are looking for victory.  Jeremy Sanford, Head Coach of the Banana Slugs shared his opinion on the upcoming match.

“We always look forward to hosting the Wolfpack! They are a great team and its always a really tough match. Both sides have a solid rugby culture and over the years a real sense of camaraderie has developed among the players. Hopefully we can rekindle that spirit as we turn the corner on the pandemic. It will be great to catch up with their coaches as well. Hopefully the banana slugs can build on last week ends solid performance and play some good rugby.”

Meanwhile the President of the Wolfpack, Logan Lanthrop, stated the following:

“Our team is looking forward to our upcoming match against UC Santa Cruz Rugby. We’re particularly honored to be able to be a part of the annual Sam Taylor memorial match. Several members of our team who previously played with Sam remember him for his uplifting energy and love for both the sport and fellow players. The team is looking forward to a hard-fought match and want to thank UC Santa Cruz Rugby for hosting us and allowing us to be a part of such an important tradition.”
