UncategorizedFirst Match for Sacramento State vs. Fresno State

Fresno State will be hosting Sacramento State this Saturday February 5th at Fresno State.  Patrick Quan and Steven Seifert were asked on how they felt about the opening battle.

Head Coach Patrick Quan from Fresno State stated,

Fresno State is anxious to get the 2022 Pacwest Rugby season started. The boys have been working hard and have gone undefeated in their preseason in preparation for league play. The Bulldogs are currently a bit beat up and will be missing some key starters which has created opportunities for new players to take the field against Sacramento State on Saturday. We are well aware of the wonderful player pool in the Sacramento area and are sure the Hornet’s will be bolstered by their new and talented head coach Steve Seifert. With respect to Sacramento State Rugby, we feel prepared for the challenge and look forward to seeing them on the pitch this Saturday.

When asked for his opinion, Head Coach Steven Seifert from Sacramento State replied,

The Sac State Men’s Rugby Club is excited to get back onto the pitch and start their 2022 PacWest season by traveling to Fresno to take on the hardnosed Bulldogs who are exceptionally prepared by Coach Patrick Quan and his staff.  After a year and a half layoff, and graduating two classes of players, the rebuilding Hornets are looking forward to the challenge that the Bulldogs will present.  The Hornets had a short preseason with two matches against UC Davis, both 5-15 losses, and a 10-90 loss against St. Mary’s B-side.  Tough lessons were learned, and we are confident that we will be able to provide good, competitive matches our opponents.  Looking forward to Saturday.
